Sample Exam Questions and Quizzes
Here you will find links to sample questions and quizzes for both exams, the National Knowledge Exam® and National Professional Practice Assessment®. All questions were prepared by the CCHRA’s Independent Board of Examiners and some of them have appeared on previous exams.

Online Preparation Courses
Prepare for the National Knowledge Exam® (NKE) or National Professional Practice Assessment® (NPPA) with these online courses. The online prep courses, provided by Captus Press through its CampusHR facilities, are designed to help you study for the exams leading up to your CHRP designation.
NKE Preparation Course
The NKE Preparation Course is customized to suit your individual needs.
The course includes:
- A diagnostic pre-test to assess your knowledge level
- Twenty hours of interactive multi-media lectures available on demand
- Quizzes with automatic feedback to monitor your progress through the lectures
- Three timed practice exams – 450 multiple choice questions
- Opportunities to interact and form study groups with other exam writers
- Online discussion groups, with individual feedback moderated by a content expert
Cost: $295 plus GST (or HST)
Statistics indicate those who use online prep courses for the NKE as their primary study tool have higher success rates than those who use alternate prep tools.
NPPA Preparation Course
This course is modeled after the National Professional Practice Assessment® (NPPA).
The course includes:
- Fifteen scenario exercises to test your knowledge of HR best practices
- Thirty five critical incidents to assess your judgment
- Review of relevant Required Professional Capabilities (RPCs®) and a listing of specialty textbooks
- Moderator-facilitated online discussion groups with individual feedback
